It probably has been for years. Maybe even a decade. The problem is the revisions. The story is probably in the hundreds now. Rothfuss' major problem is in the amount of revisions he makes. Book 3 is worse than 1 and 2 to complete because of the many moving parts it needs to have and make them fit together nicely.
