Never used a Criterion, but I have 2 Shilens currently and one I recently took off a 6.5-06. IMO, Shilen are the most overrated barrel makers on the market right now. All 3 of the barrels I have are not much better to a factory barrel as far as I'm concerned. They also did a poor job lapping them which means they foul pretty bad.

All three were equally accurate, and the best groups I could get with each of them for 5 shots at 50 yards measured 1/4". I used a 20x scope for the tests. I run Proof carbon barrels on a couple of my hunting rifles. One a 6 creed and the other a 6.5x284. They both shoot .25 moa. I have a couple hunters in 6 and 6.5 creed with Bartlien barrels as well. (myself included at times) Brand X is winning all the shoots so brand X must be the best barrel there is.A pre-fit barrel has to have the smallest threads allowed in the tolerance to make sure that it fits the smallest action in the tolerance. This makes for a loose fit in an action that has threads on the large side. It's still shooting well but I'm starting to think about ordering another barrel. I shoot mainly at 100 yards with Bart's 68 gr Ultras.
